Wallace Chan

Since the birth of the Wallace Cut (1987), to the unveiling of his revolutionary mastery of titanium in jewelry-making at BASELWORLD 2007, the name Wallace Chan has been synonymous with genius carver, undaunted innovator, inspiring sculptor and master jeweler.

Began with a gemstone workshop in 1974, renamed as Wallace Chan International Limited in 2007, Wallace Chan today has created the finest jewelry pieces sought after by the most cultivated ladies and discerning art collectors around the world. Leading auction houses Christie’s and Sotheby’s, as well as world-class museums and galleries, offer and exhibit Wallace Chan jewelry and art worldwide.

By 2010, Wallace Chan was the first contemporary jewelry artist to hold a solo exhibition at the Capital Museum in Beijing. In 2011, another solo exhibition was held at Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Headquarters Museum and a keynote speech was delivered, attended by an audience of over 730 industry magnates from over 53 countries.

Another milestone was reached in 2012, when the pioneering Wallace Chan became the first and only Asian ever invited to exhibit at the world-renowned Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris. Wallace Chan’s jewelry art shone alongside those of the most esteemed Haute Joaillerie houses from the Place Vendome.

The Wallace Chan phenomenon continues. In 2013, Wallace Chan was crowned Contemporary Jewelry Artist of the Year by Bazaar Jewelry, and he was also the first in history to receive Outstanding Contribution Award from Jewellery News Asia. Wallace Cut was featured as “One of The 100 Most Important Jewels of the 20th Century” in Vivienne Becker’s Impossible Collection of Jewelry.

In 2014, Wallace Chan is invited back to the Biennale and appointed as the official Ambassador in Asia by the Syndicat National des Antiquaires, promoting art and cultural exchange for the 27th Biennale des Antiquaires. His achievements have been covered by international media e.g. VOGUE, Le Figaro, The Economist, BBC and CNN.
